Bold colour, enduring sailing heritage. This red Consort RWR continues the design story first established by Olmes Carretti in 1987, bringing the spirit of ocean racing into everyday outerwear.

A contrasting navy corduroy collar frames the silhouette, complemented by red diamond-quilted lining. The front zip sits beneath a button-fastened placket, with a throat tab, angled flapped pockets and adjustable cuffs completing its purposeful detailing. The signature Round the World Race sleeve badge provides an unmistakable connection to our sailing roots.

An expressive interpretation of a Henri-Lloyd icon, shaped by British maritime heritage and Italian sportswear design.

The 2012 Consort RWR Jacket Story

Launched in 1987, the Consort RWR (Round the World Race) was designed by renowned Italian designer Olmes Carretti as a reinterpretation of Henri-Lloyd’s original Consort jacket, first introduced in 1965.

Drawing inspiration from the Whitbread Round the World Race, the RWR incorporated the bold colours and distinctive character of offshore racing into a jacket designed for everyday wear. Carretti introduced deeper raglan sleeves, corduroy-lined collars and trims, and refined pockets, retaining the original Consort’s functional design while giving it a more distinctive silhouette.

The jacket gained prominence within Italy’s Paninaro youth subculture, where Henri-Lloyd had become recognised for its quality, technical heritage and bold design. By the late 1980s and 1990s, its popularity had spread to the UK, establishing the RWR as a recognised piece of British streetwear. Reissued over the decades, the jacket remains closely connected to its original 1987 design.
