Classic sporting character, rooted in life around the water. This red rugby shirt pairs an easy, generous silhouette with understated Henri-Lloyd embroidery above the chest pocket.

A matching fold-down collar and short button placket keep the design clean, while long sleeves and a straight hem make it a versatile layer. Worn loose over a T-shirt or beneath outerwear, it brings bold colour and familiar sailing style to everyday dressing.

An uncomplicated wardrobe staple with a distinctive archive character.

The 2001 Red Pocket Rugby Shirt Story

The 1979–82 Transglobe Expedition, led by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, became the first expedition to circumnavigate the world via both geographical poles using surface transport. Over nearly three years, the team travelled approximately 35,000 miles, crossing Antarctica via the South Pole before continuing north through the Americas to the Arctic Ocean.

Supported by the expedition vessel Benjamin Bowring, the explorers endured extreme conditions, including 99 days drifting on Arctic ice, before returning to Greenwich in August 1982. Henri-Lloyd supplied protective clothing for the expedition, supporting one of the greatest achievements in British exploration history.
