The 1987 Henri-Lloyd Stars & Stripes Jacket reflects the brand's involvement in the America's Cup and its longstanding association with legendary American skipper Dennis Conner.

Following his defeat in 1983, Conner returned to reclaim the America's Cup in 1987, before successfully defending the trophy in 1988. The Stars & Stripes name became synonymous with his campaigns, continuing through the 1995 America's Cup in San Diego.

Constructed from nylon with a water-resistant coating, the jacket features the team's distinctive navy, white and red colourway, alongside embroidered Stars & Stripes branding and practical sailing details. A piece that captures the identity of one of sailing's most recognised teams and an important chapter in Henri-Lloyd's competitive sailing heritage.

The 1987 Stars & Stripes Team Dennis Conner Sailing Jacket Story

Few names are as closely associated with the America's Cup as Dennis Conner. The American skipper became one of the most successful figures in the competition's history, winning the trophy four times and leading some of its most memorable campaigns.

Following the loss of the America's Cup to Australia II in 1983, Conner established the Stars & Stripes campaign and returned to Fremantle in 1987, defeating Kookaburra III to reclaim the trophy for the United States.

His team went on to defend the Cup successfully in 1988, with Stars & Stripes becoming one of the most recognisable names in international sailing.
