The 2007 BMW Oracle Cap Story

The 32nd America's Cup took place in Valencia, Spain, in 2007, marking the first time the competition had been held in Europe since its inaugural race in 1851.

Eleven international challengers competed in the Louis Vuitton Cup for the opportunity to face defending champions Alinghi. Among them was BMW Oracle Racing, representing the Golden Gate Yacht Club of San Francisco. Backed by American businessman Larry Ellison and led by skipper Chris Dickson, BMW Oracle Racing competed aboard USA 98, bringing together some of the world's leading sailors, designers and engineers.

Henri-Lloyd became an official technology partner of BMW Oracle Racing in 2004, supplying technical sailing clothing and team apparel throughout the campaign. BMW Oracle Racing reached the Louis Vuitton Cup semifinals before being eliminated by Luna Rossa Challenge. Emirates Team New Zealand went on to win the challenger series, ultimately losing 5–2 to Alinghi in the America's Cup Match.
