Scaramouche Sailing Trust

Opening up the water

Henri-Lloyd is proud to partner with Scaramouche Sailing Trust, supporting its work to create life-changing opportunities for young people through sailing.

Working with Greig City Academy in North London, Scaramouche introduces young people from diverse backgrounds to sailing, helping remove the barriers that can make the sport difficult to access.

Through time on the water, students develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork and resilience, while discovering new opportunities within sailing and the wider maritime industry.

Creating opportunity through sailing

For Scaramouche, sailing is about far more than learning to handle a boat.

In the last year alone, more than 400 students took part in the programme across approximately 2,500 sailing days. Three Scaramouche boats competed at Cowes Week 2026, while four students progressed into full-time maritime careers.

Alumni have also gone on to compete at the highest levels of the sport. Kai Hockley, who left Greig City Academy in 2024, progressed to an internship with Emirates GBR, while Corneille Leprince was selected for the British Sailing Youth Team before signing with Athena Pathway.

These stories demonstrate what access to the water can unlock.

Sailing should be for everyone

Cost, geography and access can all stand between young people and the opportunity to experience sailing.

Scaramouche exists to break down those barriers.

It is an ambition that strongly aligns with Henri-Lloyd. Since 1963, we have believed in the power of life on the water and the people who push themselves further through it.

Through our partnership, Henri-Lloyd is providing Scaramouche sailors and coaches with technical sailing apparel, base and mid layers, and lifestyle pieces, helping ensure they have the kit they need to spend more time on the water.

The partnership began with a donation of 30 pieces of Henri-Lloyd kit and forms part of a wider initiative from our parent company, Monte Rosa Sport, to connect surplus inventory with organisations using sport and outdoor activity to create meaningful opportunities.

Backing the next generation

For us, this partnership is about more than providing kit.

It is about helping more young people get onto the water, discover what they are capable of and see where sailing could take them.

As Lucy Markby, Development Manager at Scaramouche Sailing Trust, explains:

“This partnership with Henri-Lloyd means our sailors step onto the water equipped like the athletes they are, not just kitted out but backed. It's a huge vote of confidence in the young people we work with, and in everything we can achieve together.”

Henri-Lloyd is proud to stand behind Scaramouche and the next generation finding their place on the water.
