In 2009, at the age of 18, Craig Wood was serving in the British Army and lost both his legs and his left hand when he suffered extensive injuries from an IED blast in Afghanistan.
Finding salvation through sailing, Craig is currently attempting to become the first triple-amputee to sail 6,000 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean, solo, on a 41-foot custom-built aluminium catamaran.
As Craig describes it himself -- “I lost my limbs and found my sea legs.” Craig’s mission now is to inspire others—whether by tying their first knot or finding purpose in life. Henri-Lloyd is proud to support Craig with clothing as he undertakes this epic journey.
Key Achievements:
Participant in the Para World Championships – taking Craig to Miami, the Netherlands, Lake Garda in Italy, Australia and Canada.
Attempting world-first solo sailing journey - 6,000 nautical mile journey from Mexico to Japan in 2025.
