Warsash Spring Championship - Warsash Sailing Club

The Pulse of Central Solent Racing

Henri-Lloyd has entered a strategic partnership with Warsash Sailing Club, one of the Solent’s most respected and progressive sailing institutions.

Positioned at the mouth of the River Hamble, Warsash Sailing Club has been at the heart of British sailing for decades, offering outstanding access to Central Solent racing. With extensive dinghy park space, excellent pontoons, and a thriving community, the club has built a reputation as one of the best places in the UK to sail from.

Founded in 1984, the Warsash Spring Series has long been a fixture in the sailing calendar. Originally known as the Silver Salver, the series has introduced generations of sailors to competitive keelboat racing and early-season Solent conditions. Today, Warsash continues to play a vital role in growing participation, from an active youth section to a flourishing dinghy fleet, recently demonstrated by 180 entries at the ILCA National Open.

Henri-Lloyd shares this commitment to participation-led sailing. As a brand born from the water and shaped by competition, Henri-Lloyd actively supports clubs and organisations that are investing in the future of the sport, creating opportunities for sailors to race more, sail better, and stay on the water longer.

Through this partnership, Henri-Lloyd will support Warsash Sailing Club’s ambition to reinvigorate keelboat racing on the Central Solent, while providing competitors access to technical sailing apparel engineered for performance in demanding conditions.

Launching the Henri-Lloyd Warsash Spring Championship

The first major milestone of this partnership is Henri-Lloyd becoming title sponsor of the newly reimagined Warsash Spring Championship.

From 2026, the series adopts a new, condensed format designed to increase participation and reflect the realities of modern sailing life. The Henri-Lloyd Warsash Spring Championship will take place over two consecutive weekends in April:

  • 18–19 April 2026
  • 25–26 April 2026

This focused format delivers four full days of racing while reducing long-term time commitments, making it more accessible for sailors balancing family, work, and travel. With conditions typically more favourable later in April, the championship offers an ideal early-season launch point for crews preparing for the year ahead.

The event will feature:

  • IRC handicap racing across both weekends
  • SB20 and RS21 one-design racing across both weekends
  • J70 class racing on the first weekend

Additional classes are welcomed where a viable fleet can be formed, keeping the championship flexible, inclusive, and responsive to the sailing community.

With the ability for visiting teams to leave boats rigged between weekends, and shore-side infrastructure that supports travelling fleets, the Henri-Lloyd Warsash Spring Championship is designed to maximise time on the water and minimise logistical friction.

“I’ve participated in the series myself for many years, and it felt like the right time to put something back. Seeing Warsash Sailing Club flying our flag, wearing our kit, and actively helping sailing grow is hugely rewarding.” Ross Partridge, Henri-Lloyd

The Henri-Lloyd Warsash Spring Championship represents a shared belief between brand and club: that sailing thrives when barriers are lowered, participation is prioritised, and racing is built around real sailors’ lives.
