Henri-Lloyd Launches Two New Merino Wool Collections: AirWool and Merino 160

Advanced Janus AirWool® performance layering and premium 160g Merino essentials bring natural performance to life on and around the water

September 2026 – Henri-Lloyd, the marine technical apparel brand established in 1963, today announces the launch of two new Merino wool collections: AirWool, an advanced performance layer built with Janus AirWool® technology, and the Merino 160 Collection, a range of elevated everyday essentials designed to move effortlessly between the marina, the city and beyond.

Both collections reflect Henri-Lloyd's continued investment in merino due to its adaptability on and off the water. Merino wool naturally regulates temperature, manages moisture and resists odours, delivering lasting comfort and freshness whether you're travelling, spending time on the water or enjoying everyday life.

AirWool: Advanced Merino Performance for Life on the Water

Crafted using Janus AirWool® patented technology, an advanced knitted structure and a brushed interior holds warm air while still allowing excess heat and moisture to escape. AirWool® combines premium Merino wool with an innovative knitted construction to deliver exceptional warmth, breathability and natural temperature regulation in changing conditions.

Developed in Norway, Janus has generations of wool expertise and spent more than 130 years pioneering high-performance wool garments for some of the world's harshest environments. Henri-Lloyd selected AirWool® for its outstanding natural performance, engineering the layer to be worn beneath technical sailing outerwear on colder days or on its own when conditions allow.

Choose the hoody for extra coverage, the half-zip for easy ventilation or the vest for lightweight core warmth. Wear them on their own or layer them under sailing outerwear.

 Key features:

  • Janus AirWool® technology with an advanced knitted construction
  •  Natural temperature regulation and warmth without bulk
  • High breathability and moisture management
  •  Naturally odour resistant for lasting freshness
  • Lightweight comfort for all-day wear

Tom McMullen, CMO at Henri-Lloyd, said: “Merino is becoming increasingly popular as consumers look for natural fibres that deliver performance, comfort and longevity. We’re seeing a growing appreciation for natural materials that work harder, last longer and have a lower impact. Our latest AirWool® and Merino 160 collection reflects this shift.”

“Ultimately, the choice between merino and synthetics comes down to personal preference and intended use. Both materials perform exceptionally well at high intensity, both insulate when wet, and both can be highly breathable.”

Both the AirWool® and Merino 160 collection are available on henrilloyd.com and in-store.
