If you'd asked me as a young designer what my dream job would have been, I think I would have said, give me a great British brand with heritage, performance, and innovation at its heart to reimagine. Today, I am honoured to be appointed as the creative director of Henri-Lloyd.
Henri-Lloyd is a true gift in the world of yachting, boating, and fashion—a unique brand with over six decades of expertise in these areas. No other brand has this combination of heritage and performance. Henri-Lloyd was originally founded to protect sailors and explorers from foul weather with their waterproof garments designed to save lives. Over time, the brand became an integral part of cultural movements, from the Paninari in Italy to the Hacienda in Manchester.
My new direction for Henri-Lloyd centres around a lifestyle inspired by British sailing, both on and offshore. There's a warmth, character, and energy about it. My vision for the future is all about quality. It needs to be rugged yet refined. The technical performance of the brand is paramount. There's a tension here between old and new, and when you're buying into Henri-Lloyd, you're buying into an amazing legacy. It's more than just garments; it's a perspective on life.
In the coming years, I aim to blend the rich heritage of Henri-Lloyd with contemporary design, ensuring that every piece reflects the brand's commitment to excellence. This is more than a job; it's a journey to redefine what it means to live and breathe the Henri-Lloyd lifestyle.
