About Henri-Lloyd
Henri-Lloyd is a British heritage performance brand with over 60 years of maritime expertise. From our origins outfitting ocean racers to a modern direct-to-consumer ecommerce business, we combine technical innovation with timeless design. As we continue to scale our digital business, we are building the team to match our ambitions.
Role Purpose
The Ecommerce Merchandising Manager is a pivotal commercial role responsible for the full onsite customer experience at Henri-Lloyd. You will own everything that happens once a customer lands on our website - from how products are presented and discovered, to how seamlessly visitors convert into buyers.
This is a hands-on, data-led role that blends creative merchandising instinct with strong analytical capability. You will be the custodian of onsite performance, driving continuous improvement across conversion rate, average order value, and revenue per visit.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the onsite merchandising strategy across all categories, collections, and landing pages on Shopify, including product sorting, collection curation, and promotional pages.
• Manage cross-sell, upsell, and product recommendation logic to drive average order value.
• Lead the CRO roadmap - identifying friction points across the customer journey, running A/B tests, and working with developers to implement improvements.
• Conduct regular UX/UI audits across desktop and mobile, owning the site search experience and checkout optimisation.
• Champion site health, monitoring page speed, broken links, and mobile responsiveness, resolving issues proactively.
• Own the onsite KPI dashboard, reporting weekly and monthly on conversion rate, bounce rate, AOV, revenue per session, and product page performance.
• Produce clear trading reports with actionable recommendations.
• Use GA4 and Shopify Analytics to surface insights and identify commercial opportunities.
• Manage day-to-day Shopify platform operations including theme updates, app management, and content publishing.
• Collaborate with the performance marketing team to ensure landing pages align with paid and organic traffic strategies.
• Support the trading calendar by delivering onsite assets on time for key campaigns, launches, and sale events.
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Minimum 2–3 years of ecommerce experience in a merchandising, trading, or digital commerce role.
• Hands-on, demonstrable Shopify experience - you must be comfortable managing and editing the platform day-to-day.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving onsite conversion and revenue metrics.
• Proficiency in GA4 and/or other web analytics platforms; comfortable pulling and interpreting data independently.
• Experience running A/B tests and a structured approach to CRO.
• Good eye for UX/UI with the ability to identify friction points and propose practical solutions. Experience managing development projects.
• Strong communicator who can translate data into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
• Experience with ecommerce in apparel, outdoor, or lifestyle sectors.
• Familiarity with heatmapping and session recording tools (e.g. Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity).
• Exposure to Shopify Plus and advanced theme customisation (Liquid).
• Understanding of SEO principles and their application to onsite merchandising.
• Experience with email or CRM platforms that integrate with Shopify (e.g. Klaviyo).

• Annual clothing allowance.
• 4 days in our Manchester city centre office, 1 day working from home.
• A high-autonomy role with direct exposure to senior leadership and real commercial impact from day one.
