2003-2007: BMW ORACLE RACING

From 2003 to 2007, our partnership with BMW Oracle Racing was a key chapter in our America’s Cup involvement. Together, we developed high-performance sailing gear, including the Shadow and Fast-Dri Polos, tailored for elite sailors. Representing the Golden Gate Yacht Club, BMW Oracle Racing competed as the Challenger of Record in the 2007 America’s Cup in Valencia. Despite falling short in the semi-finals, the collaboration deepened our expertise in technical clothing, driving future innovations and solidifying Henri-Lloyd's position at the forefront of sailing apparel.

LAND ROVER BAR

Our commitment to the America’s Cup deepened in 2017 through our partnership with Land Rover BAR, led by Sir Ben Ainslie, aiming to bring the Cup back to Britain. We developed specialised gear for the high-speed foiling catamarans, focusing on protection, mobility, and comfort under extreme conditions. Despite not winning, the campaign showcased our innovation and dedication to meeting the exacting standards of elite sailors.

INEOS BRITANNIA

Our partnership with INEOS Britannia, the British challenger for the 37th America’s Cup, marks the culmination of decades of experience and innovation. Beginning in 2019 for the 2021 AC, we continue to work with Sir Ben Ainslie, providing technical clothing optimised for performance. Beyond gear, we’re deeply involved in research and development, ensuring our products meet the demands of elite sailing. As INEOS Britannia prepares for the 2024 America’s Cup in Barcelona, we’re proud to support their mission to push the limits of sailing and bring the Cup back to Britain.

OUR LEGACY

Looking back, our involvement with the America’s Cup is a reflection of our brand’s ethos—innovation, performance, and a relentless drive to be the best. From Dennis Conner’s historic comeback in 1987 to our current partnership with INEOS Britannia, we have consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in sailing apparel. Each campaign has provided us with the opportunity to innovate, refine our products, and contribute to the success of some of the most iconic teams in sailing history. As we celebrate over 60 years of heritage, our story with the America’s Cup is far from over. We continue to look forward, always seeking new ways to support the world’s best sailors with gear that not only meets but exceeds the demands of the world’s toughest races. At Henri-Lloyd, we are proud of our past, but we are even more excited about the future—one that we will continue to shape through innovation, dedication, and a passion for the sport of sailing.
