What better place and time to try out the third of our limited edition Consort jackets than on the island of Marstrand, which is the beautiful sailing hub on Sweden’s picturesque west coast. The Consort Limo was a style originally created in the 1980’s for the Milanese youth culture movement the Panninari, a classic style that has been updated to coincide with the relaunch of the Henri-Lloyd brand.
Saturday morning dawned with light winds and not a cloud in the sky but with a refreshing -2 degrees Celsius air temperature. The Consort Limo was definitely welcomed by both crews when rigging the boats and washing the ice off the decks with salt water! Up until this point Marstrand had only seen 8 hours of sunshine in the whole month of November and so it wasn’t quite possible to double the hours since there are only seven hours of daylight at this time of year in these northern climes
These limited edition Consort Limo jackets have been constructed from a durable Italian rip stop nylon face and are “diamond quilted”, taking inspiration from the lining of the Consort Original, a jacket designed by Mr Henri in 1965.
Subtle features follow from that original jacket including a Raglan sleeve construction, Throat Tab, Removable button on hood and angled welt pockets.
Finally the jacket has been brought up to date with the use of the new Henri-Lloyd snap closures which have been created to the exacting specification of legendary designer Nigel Cabourn who has collaborated with us for Spring Summer 20. Another limited edition story which launches next month.
